Baseball Team
On Monday, May 3, the Eagles Baseball Team clinched the CCAA Conference title with a 12-8 win over the Calvary Lutheran Lions.  The Eagles have had an outstanding season and are seated 2nd in the upcoming district tournament.  They will play the winner of the Pilot Grove/Green Ridge game on Tuesday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. in Pilot Grove.  Come out and pack the bleachers in blue & white! CCAA Conference Track Meet

Tuesday, April 27, the JHS Jr. High and Varsity Track teams traveled to Glasgow to compete in the CCAA Conference Track Meet.  Everyone did a great job!  Several 1st place finishes and personal records were achieved.
Both Varsity teams and the Jr. High Boys team placed 1st in the team competition.  JHS also ran away with all 4 MVP awards for the 2nd year in a row.  Alyssa Hees, Tyler Wilson, Annabelle Sumner and Zach Hargis each claimed the Conference MVP in their division.  Well done, Eagles!!

State FFA Foresty Results

On Saturday, April 17, the Jamestown FFA Forestry Team competed in the State FFA contest at the Universtiy of Missouri.  The team placed 5th overall.  Well done, Eagles!

Columbia Missourian Regional Spelling Bee

On Wednesday, March 24, JHS 6th Grader Sophia G. competed in the Regional Spelling Bee at the Journalism School on the campus of the University of Missouri.  There were 15 students that qualified to participate in the in-person bee.  Sophia battled through nine rounds to place 3rd in the tenth.  She finished behind last year's champion and the champion's sister.  The champion will go on to compete in the national bee later this year.  Sophia is determined to make it back next year and do even better.  Great job, Eagle!!

FFA Area 8 Parliamentarian

On Wednesday, March 10, Area 8 held their officer interviews in Stover.  There were 14-16 candidates for office and JHS Junior, Paige Shelton, was named the new Area 8 Parliamentarian.  She will serve as the Parliamentarian for the 2021-22 year.  She will attend the Area Officer Institute this summer at the Lake of the Ozarks and will be responsible for helping to plan the Area Leadership Conference and Area Greenhand Conference for next year.  Congratulations, Eagle!

FBLA Community Project

The FBLA choose to take goodie baskets to Jamestown Senior Housing as this year's service project.  The baskets included hand sanitizer, fruit candy, crosswords, pencils and baked goods.  FBLA members delivered the baskets to the residents Monday after school.

On Friday night, the Lady Eagles traveled to Community R-6 in Laddonia to play the hometown Lady Trojans (25-2) for the District Championship.  The Lady Eagles fought hard but came up short, losing 41-57.  Congratulations, Ladies and Coaches on your fantastic finish to the season!  Well done, Eagles!

Winter Concert
February 5, 2021
Due to the crazy fall semester, the annual Christmas concert had to changed to a Winter concert in February.  It was broadcast live on our Youtube channel for those that were unable to attend.  It was a wonderful concert.  Everyone did a great job.  Well done, Mrs. Lieser and all the students that participated!

UPDATE: Sophia has qualified to compete in the finals of the Regional Spelling Bee on March 24.  She placed in the top 15 through an on-line qualifying round and will go to MU for the finals.  Good luck, Eagle!
ORIGINAL: On Thursday, four students from Jamestown traveled to Prairie Home to participate in the CCAA Conference Spelling Bee.  All four did a fantastic job with Tristan S. placing 5th and Sophia G. coming home with the win!  Sophia will be competing in the Columbia Missourian Regional Bee in March.
Way to go, E-A-G-L-E-S!

Famous Missourian Presentations

Famous Missourians
Due to the coronovirus dismissal last spring, the 3rd Grade class was not able to present on the famous Missourians that they had spent a lot of time researching.  They voted as a class to put off the presentations until we were back in school in the fall.  On Tuesday, they were finally able to present their projects to parents, students and staff.  Many of them even dressed as the Missourian that they selected for their project.  They did a great job and we are very proud of their hard work.
Well done, Eagles!

Prairie Home Jr. High Basketball Tournament

Saturday, October 17, the Jr. High Basketball teams both competed in the championship games of the Prairie Home Tourament against the New Franklin Bulldogs.  The ladies fought hard but came up short, with a score of 24-36.  The Lady Eagles walked away with their heads held high and a 2nd place finish.  The boys then took on the Bulldogs and defeated them, 44-40, winning the championship.
Well done, Eagles!

Saturday, October 3, under rainy conditions, the Eagles baseball team traveled to Prairie Home to compete in the CCAA Conference Tournament with their sights set on bringing home the championship after placing 2nd last year.  They opened their day with a 9-3 win over the Calvary Lutheran Lions.  The boys faced the Prairie Home/Bunceton team in the championship game and poured on the runs, walking away with a 15-0 victory!
Congratulations, team & coaches!  Well done, Eagles!

Capital Arts 2020 Chalk Art Competition

Chalk Art Drawing
On September 12, several JHS students and their teacher, Mrs. Makayla Howard, submitted a piece of art to the annual Capital Arts Chalk Art Competition.  They entered their 3x5 drawing in the "Group" category.  Using pastel chalk, the group chose to draw a sugar skull due to its difficulty and detail.  The challenging choice paid off as they were awarded with 1st place in their category.
