BIG DAY FOR JAMESTOWN SPORTS 5.19.18
Big things are happening in the world for sports for JHS on Saturday, May 19. The day starts at the State Track Meet in Jefferson City with Trenton Barbour competing in the Triple Jump at 10:00 a.m. Then the Boys 4 x 200 Relay finals are at 12:10 p.m. That team consists of Ian Sumner, Garrett Wolfe, Cole Higgins and Trenton Barbour. The track meet can be watched live by clicking here. It does require a subscription to watch but it is great fun to see them run! They will be in Lane 6. Then, it is off to Pilot Grove for the District Baseball Championships. The Boys play Pilot Grove at 4:00 p.m. Good Luck, Eagles!!! We are rooting for you! |
Updated: Let's send Evan to Nationals!!
Final Update 5/7/18: You did it! The generosity of this town is amazing! $1231.06 has been raised to send Evan to FBLA Nationals!!! Several more individual donations have come in along with a donation from the Booster Club. So you did it, Jamestown! Thank you! Updated 4/30/18: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We have almost reached the original goal of $900. Thanks to some very generous donations from the People's Bank of Moniteau County, JHS 4th grade and 5th grade classes, as well as many individuals from across the community, we have currently raised $887.77 to send Evan to FBLA Nationals in Baltimore, Maryland! The JHS FBLA has paid his enrollment fee of $221 and Evan is set to go represent our school and community. If you still want to support Evan on this amazing adventure, please get your donations in as soon as possible. Any money received over the $900 goal will continue to be given to Evan to be applied to travel expenses in getting to Baltimore and sightseeing expenses in Washington, D.C. Update 4/24/18: Evan has already received some very generous donations and is a little over halfway there. Thank you, Jamestown!! Original: Evan Croy has qualified to compete at the FBLA Business Law Nationals in Baltimore, Maryland by placing 3rd at State. In order for him to be able to attend, he needs to raise around $900. Would you like to help get him there?? If so, please submit your support to the school, marked for Evan by April 30 so he can be registered in time. National School Lunch Hero Day
Between preparing healthy food, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, our nutrition professionals have a lot on their plate. To celebrate their hard work and commitment, our school is celebrating School Lunch Hero Day today, May 4. School Lunch Hero Day provides an opportunity for parents, students, school staff and communities to thank those who provide healthy meals to 30 million of America’s students each school day. So we say, "Thank you, Bev, Lesa and Karen! We appreciate all your hard work on our behalf. Well done, Ladies!" |
Silver at State Music Festival
On April 26, our ladies' Sextet competed at State Music Festival on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia, MO. They received a Silver Rating for their performance of "Omnia Sol (Let your Heart Be Staid)" by Stroope. Pictured are the ladies that performed together. District Piano Solo Contest Results
Jamestown had two students compete in the District Piano Solo Contests. William Lieser received a I rating and Katie Hunziker received a II rating. Well done, Eagles! |
FFA Area IDE Results
On March 28, Jamestown had two individuals and one team competing in the FFA Area IDE's in California, MO. Trenton Barbour placed 1st in Extemporaneous Speaking, Maddie Sedgwick placed 2nd in Creed Speaking and the FFA Knowledge Team placed 5th. All 3 of these individuals/groups advance to Districts which will be this Thursday, April 5. Well done, Eagles! |

5th-8th Grade Geography Bee Results
On Monday, March 5, JHS students traveled to Prairie Home to compete in the CCAA Geography Bee. Madelyn Rutledge placed 2nd and Josh Sanders placed 3rd overall. Congratulations to all the participants. Well done, Eagles! |
