On Friday, February 12, 2021, Jamestown C-1 will have a 2-hour late start. Both AM/PM buses will run snow routes. The Late Start Letter that was released in the Fall with information regarding the details for late start is included below. Elementary students will have their Valentine's Day parties tomorrow as previously scheduled.

Jamestown will play Calvary Lutheran tomorrow at 5:00 PM for the 2021 Homecoming Games and Coronation. The Sapphires will perform immediately following the final game of the night with the Coronation Ceremony following their dance. Tomorrow also will be Blue and White Day. The Pep Assembly will be held at 1:15 PM tomorrow afternoon.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you,

Gretchen Guitard

As we enter into the winter months, the district would like to remind all parents that the Board of Education has approved a Late Start Plan as an additional option for days when road conditions do not allow for safe transportation at the regular start time but improve by mid-morning. Many school districts utilize a late start in order to avoid missing an entire day of school which then requires a make-up day later in the year.

In the event of a late state, school will begin at 9:52 AM. High School classes will begin with 3rd hour and continue with the rest of the classes as regularly scheduled.
Bus routes will be delayed 2 hours. For example, if your normal bus pick up time is 7:15 AM, then on late start you should expect to be picked up at 9:15 AM.
Breakfast will not be served on late start mornings, and all lunch shifts will start at the normal times.
We will not be sending a bus to Nichols Career Center on late start mornings.
Certified staff will be expected to report to the building no later than 9:30 AM.

In the event the district utilizes a late start plan, parents will be notified through the automated school message system and local news stations will be contacted.

The decision to cancel or even shorten a regularly scheduled school day is never ideal. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we try to make the best decision to keep your child safe and protect the instructional day.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
